Educational Programs

Our Quran Tahfeed and weekend classes are carefully designed and delivered under the supervision of Sh. Muhaidiin Omar, the esteemed Imam and educational director with a distinguished educational background from the Islamic University of Al-Azhar Sharif and over a decade of teaching experience. The Imam actively trains teachers, conducts regular meetings and evaluates their performance to continually enhance the educational experience of our children and youth.

Weekend Islamic School

The Islamic weekend school provides Arabic literacy, Islamic studies, and Qur’an teaching on both Saturdays and Sundays. These classes are divided into two sessions per day to accommodate the number of students and their varying schedules.

  • The Morning sessions commence at 11 am and conclude at 2 pm,
  • The Afternoon sessions commence at 2 pm and conclude at 5 pm,
  • Teachers allocate approximately 1 hour to each subject.

Students report a significant improvement in their ability to read and write Arabic after a short period of time.

Tahfeed Program

The Tahfeed program is designed to help students memorize the Quran in a significantly short period of time. In the last several years, over 13 students memorized the entire quran and graduated from our Tahfeed program, leading taraweeh prayers in different mosques in the city and other cities in Canada. Teachers help students improve not only their memorization but also excel in their tajweed skills. We currently have 3 classes for the Tahfeed program.  2 Classes for the boys, and 1 class for the girls.

Boys:
Saturdays and Sundays: 11 am – 2 pm.
Monday and Tuesdays: 6 pm – 8:30 pm
(During weekdays, most classes are held virtually)

Girls:
Saturdays and Sundays: 2pm – 5pm
Wednesdays and Thursdays: 5pm – 8:30pm

Investing in our society’s interests creates unbreakable bonds with our neighbors as well.

The Outreach program organizes and offers courses for all ages and groups. Masjids Bilal has welcomed thousands of visitors over the years and has conducted hundreds of guided tours and lectures, both for Muslims and non-Muslims, as part of our commitment to promoting religious and cultural understanding among people of different faiths and backgrounds.

The Islamic religion views marriage as both a social agreement and a legal contract. Today, the marriage contract is signed by an Imam, who is familiar with both Islamic law and Canadian law, as well as the rules of Manitoba.
